Adrià Triquell i Salomé. 1947–2010
Adrià Triquell was always passionate about sports. At a very young age he could be seen riding his bicycle on the roads of his home town Lleida, and as he grew up, he expanded his hobbies to other outdoor activities that allowed him a closer interaction with nature: hiking, mountaineering, mountain biking and latelly, orienteering.
Very meticulous in everything he did and with a very particular sense of humour, he had a brilliant career as a computer systems analyst, and a very full personal life. His passions were travelling with his family, photography and cartography. Because he mastered those disciplines, he decided to write the book
“Parc de la Serralada Litoral” (editorial Piolet), which he finished just before his unexpected death.
Adrià actively collaborated with COC organizing races, helping with maps, taking care of treasury, publishing the Orientacoc, being a board member and, ultimately, participating enthusiastically in what he was asked to help with.
"The Adria Triquell Trophy is a tribute to the man who was honest, loved by family and friends, and who well represented the catalan 'seny' (a mix of prudence and common sense) and ‘rauxa’ (a mix of vitality and craziness)."
